How to Give
Gifts of cash
Cash gifts are highly beneficial to the project and help CGHSF meet its cash flow obligations during construction.
Gifts by pledge
A pledge is an effective and easy way to give. With a pledge period of up to five years, you are able to budget your donation. Also, pledges offer a steady and predictable source of funding for the Foundation to carry out its charitable efforts.
Gifts of securities or personal property
People who own stocks, bonds, mutual funds or exchange traded funds (ETFs) are pleased to see their investments increase in value over time. Unfortunately, when converted back to cash, any capital gains are taxable.
By donating your publicly listed securities to Centre Grey Health Services Foundation in-kind, you pay no capital gains tax on their increase in value! After your donation is received into the Foundation’s brokerage account, we will provide you with a charitable tax receipt for their full market value on the day they are received. This tax receipt:
- helps reduce the amount of income tax you pay
- may be carried forward and used in any of the next five years
- may help reduce the taxes payable by your Estate allowing more of your Estate to go to beneficiaries

Gifts by bequest
A bequest gift to the hospital is an excellent choice to create long-term impact in the community. The Foundation is the channel by which you can realize that impact. Your bequest gift could sustain health care for decades. Please inquire with the Foundation office, or with any member of the campaign team.
Gifts should be made payable to Centre Grey Health Services Foundation or CGHSF and designated for “Together in Care” campaign.
All gifts to the Together In Care campaign qualify for charitable gift receipts for income tax purposes.
Note: The Centre Grey Health Services Foundation does not give tax or financial advice and advises all potential donors of property or assets to obtain independent professional advice about the tax or other implications of such a donation.
