After a short visit at a lookout point over the new hospital, Mayor Woodbury noted “We’ve waited a long time for this. It’s nice to see the building coming together.” “The progress is certainly visible now, said Deputy Mayor Brian Milne. “This hospital will benefit every one of us and Southgate is happy to be a partner”.
“The support received from the Township of Southgate is incredible” said Harvey Fraser, Chair of the Foundation and Chair of the campaign for the new hospital. “Southgate Council as well as their residents are such strong supporters of this hospital. We cannot thank them enough. Their generosity will make a difference in healthcare for generations to come” explained Mr. Fraser.
The hospital build is well underway. They expect it to take approx 2 years to build, and 6 months to transfer from the old to the new building, with doors opening in mid/late 2023.
