The Livingston Family – “Why We Gave”
For generations, our family has had roots in Grey County – a beautiful area that we continue to enjoy.
Our introduction to Markdale Hospital happened in the late 1970s when we were visiting relatives in Glenelg Township. While snowmobiling on the trails, a family member had the misfortune to encounter a sharp object resulting in a severe cut to the knee.
We were incredibly grateful for the compassionate care and personal attention that we received from Dr. J. D. Robinson and a team of nurses at Markdale Hospital’s Emergency Department.
Fast forward 45 years, we are now casual residents in Grey County and on occasion, have visited the same hospital. There is no doubt that the level of care provided to patients at this small, rural hospital is still second to none!
Our family is very pleased to be able to make this gift to the “Together in Care Campaign,” and to see the vision of a new community hospital become a reality.
Markdale’s new state-of-the-art hospital will continue to service the community and provide the same exceptional care for future generations.
