"Together in support of the new Markdale Hospital"
Plans for the New Markdale Hospital
Together we are expanding local health care services
The creation of a brand-new rural hospital is a rare event in Ontario. The new Markdale Hospital is the result of the enduring commitment and hard work of volunteers and donors, civic leaders, elected officials, hospital staff, doctors, GBHS leadership, the Foundation, and other advocated and activists who kept the vision moving forward.
The new hospital will feature more space, state-of-the-art design and equipment for a procedures room to provide as much care as possible in ways that allow people to return home without a hospital stay.
The space we are creating is designed to let us respond to both evolving and sudden needs of the community. The inpatient spaces the emergency room, the procedures space – all are being build so they can quickly adapt and respond to emergencies, disasters, outbreaks or even a pandemic.
The outcome will be dramatic – a new hospital that supports better care for everyone.
Our Campaign Team
Message from our Campaign Chair,
“As a life-long resident of Grey County, I joined the Board of the Centre Grey Health Services Foundation because I felt it was time for me to give something back, to put my time and effort into the community. To me, one of the most honourable and meaningful places to invest one’s efforts is in health care which benefits everyone in the community...
Who in the community is leading this campaign?
The fundraising campaign is run by the Centre Grey Health Services Foundation, which raises funds for health care in the area year in and year out. A group of volunteers has gathered to lead the campaign and seek support.
What is the goal of the campaign?
Our goal is $5.7 million. The total financial commitment from the community to the project was set years ago with the province and confirmed several times since at $12.5 million.
